DALE AMDAHL RITES CONDUCTED
Dale Percy Amdahl, 48, an area livestock farmer and chief of police at Summit, died at his home Saturday morning.
Funeral services were Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Summit City Auditorium with the Rev Gary Olson, pastor of the Hope Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in the Ortley Cemetery.
Mr Amdahl was born Dec 8, 1924, at Ortley to Mr and Mrs Henry O Amdahl. He married Ruth Hjellming Jan 8, 1944, at Webster.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post at Summit.
Surviving are his widow, Ruth; three daughters, Mrs Virgil (Sharon) Snell, Twin Brooks; Linda Amdahl, Summit and Shelly Amdahl, at Summit; five sons, Gary, Stanton, Neb; Leon, Woonsocket; Leslie, Stanton, Neb; and Kevin and Terry at home; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs Olvin (Hazel) Larson, Wilmot; Mrs Kenneth (Doris) Woodward, Sioux Falls;and Mrs Lawrence (Shirley) Fiebelkorn, Watertown; and three brothers, Clifford, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Calrence, Summit and Richard, Mitchell.
