Alfred Baier, Jr.
June 23, 1933 - October 8, 2008

KEIZER - Alfred Baier, Jr. age 75, left his family and friends on October 8, 2008. He was born in Wayne, Nebraska to Alfred and Elsie Baier, Sr., the sixth of thirteen children.

Al lived and farmed in the Wayne area where he met and married the love of his life, Nancy Jean Ferris in 1952. They had 56 happy years together. Al moved his wife and son, Darin, to Salem, Oregon in 1970. Al was always Darin's number one fan attending all of his baseball games both at home and away.

Al worked for Salem Memorial Hospital and for Marv's Utility Specialists until he retired in 1995. Always the farmer, Al enjoyed working with his son raising cattle and turkeys. Al also loved spending time watching his favorite tv shows with his precious puppy, Cinnamon. Al will always be fondly remembered by all his family and friends for his great sense of humor and willingness to help everyone.

Al is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Darin; two brothers; and three sisters. His infant son, Troy, preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2008 at Jason Lee Methodist Church. Oh sweet Jesus, thank you for our Father Al who now art in Heaven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alfred's memory to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
