Private 3236 Charles Robert Dearing, 1st/5th Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment was the son of railway clerk Henry Arthur Dearing and Patience Elliff Dearing nee Lewin. Charles was laid to rest at Hanley Cemetery and was entitled to be awarded the British WW1 medals. His next of kin would have been sent the Memorial Death Plaque of WW1.
