Obituary:
JANE LEW - Richard Leon Morgan, 60, of Sistersville passed away peacefully, at his daughter's home in Buckhannon, at 11:28 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2014. He was born on July 30, 1953, a son of the late Chester Leon Morgan and Ruth Elaine Myer Morgan. Richard, better known as "Morgan" to his friends, grew up in Wolf Summit WV and was in the last graduating class of Bristol High School in 1971. He is survived by one daughter, Maggie Mae Turner and husband Daniel of Buckhannon; one son, Joshua Chance Morgan of Moundsville; one sister, Diane Ruth Shaffer and husband Stanley of McClenney, FL; three brothers: Jerry Lynn Morgan and companion Katrina Black of Wolf Summit, Danny Phillip Myer and wife Mary Lou of Morgantown, and Steven Hamilton Fox and wife Robyn of Port Saint Lucie, FL; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers: James Willard Morgan and John Randall Morgan. Richard was a contract truck driver for over 30 years, having traveled all over the United States. He was a spirited sports enthusiast who watched NASCAR races, NFL games and WVU basketball and football. He enjoyed camping, billiards, woodworking and auto mechanics and bodywork. To his fellow CB'ers he was known as "Crazy Freightliner," who had a quick-witted sense of humor and maintained the cleanest truck around. Richard beamed with pride and joy the day he was able to walk his beautiful daughter down the aisle on her wedding day, knowing that her loving husband would take great care of his little girl. Richard's request for cremation has been honored and his family will have a private graveside service at Shirley Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be sent directly to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.patboylefuneralhome.com. The Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service is honored and privileged to serve the family of Richard Morgan.
