Mrs. Hazel "Marie " Thompson

Mrs. Hazel "Marie " Thompson, 89, of Senoia, Ga., died Monday morning, Sept. 12, 2005. Mrs. Thompson was born in Spalding County in 1916 to Carl and Hazel Williams but later moved to Senoia where she lived most of her life. Mrs. Thompson loved caring for her family and spent most of her time gardening, cooking, canning foods, reading and caring for her home. She was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church for over 60 years.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband of 65 years, James Lamar Thompson; a son, "Jack " James Lamar Thompson Jr. and wife Janie Sue; a sister, Jeanette Storey; a brother, Ruben Williams; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Charles Dayton, Jay Thompson, Justin Thompson, John Thompson, Joel Williams and Chris Waters will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Jones Funeral Home 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 at Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church with Rev. Winston Skinner and Pastor Richard Mcleroy officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church Cemetery. Jones Funeral Home, Newnan, Ga.
