Joni J. Miller, 95, of Shipshewana, died at 5:15 pm, on Wednesday, February 5, at his residence.

He was born on December 31, 1918, in Sumner County, KS, to John E. and Katie C. (Troyer) Miller.
On December 17, 1940 he married Susie A. Bontrager, she died April 28, 2005.

Surviving are five daughters, Polly Anna (Ivan) Hochstetler and Mary Esther (Wilbur) Miller both of Topeka, Katie Mae (Lloyd) Yoder of Millersburg, Alta (Christ) Hochstetler of Shipshewana, Wilma (Dewayne) Yoder of Lagrange; two sons, Elmer (Mary) Miller and Vernon (Darlene) Miller both of Shipshewana; 40 grandchildren, 147 great grandchildren, 15 step great grandchildren, five great- great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Alma Miller and Mary Edna Kurtz both of Topeka.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four brothers, Eli, Ammon, Christie and Willie Miller, two sisters, Susie Yoder and Mary Kurtz, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, son-in-law, Melvin Eash.

He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church, a farmer and later in life had a repair shop at his residence.

Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Shipshewana.
