Born in Lynn, MA, he attended Lynn schools and graduated from Bates College in 1936. He also attended Boston College Law School.
During World War II he did duty in Greenland as an officer in the Coast Guard. After the war he went to work for Shawmut Bank in Boston. While there he attended Rutgers School of Banking. His thesis that he wrote was put in the Harvard Library.
He then went on to become Vice President and later CEO and President of the Bay State National Banks in Lawrence, MA. He also was President of Rotary. When he retired in 1979 he moved to North Palm Beach from Andover, MA.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife June of 63 years and daughter Karen Hyde of Naples, FL, son David of Vallejo, CA, three granddaughters, and five great-grandchildren. "Hutch", as he was known, was an avid yachtman and fisherman. Edgley Cremation Services, West Palm Beach.
