Joe was born August 21, 1938 in Louisville, KY to the late Joseph E. Batcher, Sr. and Evelyn Sanders and was the stepson of Rollin Young. He was preceded in death by his wife Donie Fay Meacham.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran with two foreign tours of duty, licensed pilot, and member of Clark Co., IN Senior Air Patrol Squadron. A Supervisor at McLean Trucking Co. for 23 years then retired as Coater Foreman from Westvaco Paper Co. after 17 years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jeffersonville and his hobbies include Bluegrass banjo player, fishing, flying and travel.
