Adams, Alton "Al"Alton "Al" L. Adams, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born on January 26, 1932, in Nathan, MI, the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Christiansen) Adams. On August 16, 1952, Al married Barbara Esbrook in Michigan. They later moved to Wisconsin, and Al began his own construction business, which he operated for 28 years before retiring. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Zittau. Al loved to cook, especially doing fish fries; he also enjoyed camping, and polka dancing. Al's family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time together. Al is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara; four children, Susan(Charles)Tiedt, Bradenton, FL; James Adams, New London; Nancy(Tom)Kramer, Alpharetta, GA; and Karen(Reed)Hovie, Neenah; nine grandchildren, Shilo, Jaime, Michelle, David, Amanda, Kayla, Kristin, Logan and Allison; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, LaVerne(Ron)Wisniewski, Neenah; a sister-in-law, Janet(Jim)Voss, Stephenson, MI; special friends, Sena and Joe Morin and Eileen and Gordy Behm; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont. Rev. Mark Kinney will officiate. Burial will be in Wolf River Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
