Mr. Wagner, a German immigrant, settled on Spring creek probably as early as 1842, and continued to reside there until his death. raising a large family, all of whom have become useful citizens. His sons are August; Frank, Robert; and William, all married. His oldest daughter married Mr. Henry Weidemeyer; and the youngest, Miss Anna, is the wife of the authors very dear friend, Mr. Fred Schoultea, of the Garcitas creek. Of "Old Fred" it can be said that his honesty has kept him poor in spite of his industry. Their children are Ferdinand John, Miss Bertha, Katie, Willie and Victor.
