Miss Amelia "Emma" A. Hajek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hajek, was born on a farm in Boyd county, Nebraska, near Lynch. She died at the Lares Sanitarium in Denver, Colorado, where she went several weeks ago, seeking to recover her health.

She died Wednesday, September 11, 1912 at the age of 19 years, 9 months and 9 days.

With her parents, she moved to a farm near Verdigre, when six years old, which was her home until the time of her death. She was well known in this community.

She has been sick for some months. Her parents thought it best for her to go to Colorado to recuperate, but death came.

She leaves to mourn her death, her father, mother and sister, Clara, numerous relatives and a host of friends.

The remains arrived in Verdigre last Friday afternoon. Funeral services were held Saturday in the ZCBJ Hall, she being a faithful member of that lodge. After the services she was laid to rest at the ZCBJ cemetery.

The beautiful casket was profusely decorated with the choice flowers. She was a favorite of all who knew her. The memory of her love and queenly qualities will ever remain precious.
