Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon (EST), Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley, AL. The Rev. Ken Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett, AL. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his three children, Tommy C. (Ella) Griffin of Kennesaw, GA, Lamar (Dixie) Griffin of Columbia, SC, and Alice Griffin of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Griffin; daughter, Micki Griffin; son, Jerry Griffin; granddaughter, Jessica Griffin.
Mr. Griffin was born on May, 22, 1922 in Lanett, AL to the late Charles C. and Emma Lee Palmen Griffin. He was a member of the Lanett First Christian Church and the Langley Avenue Christian Church in Atlanta, GA. He was a native of Lanett and a former employee of West Point Pepperell's Lanett Mill. He had lived most of his life in the Atlanta area, and had recently lived in Houston, TX. When working in the Lanett Mill, he was employed in the weave room.
