Mabel grew up in Micanopy as well as did Joseph Leslie Arnow whom she married on 17 June 1908 in the First Baptist Church of Micanopy. She and Leslie moved to Gainesville about 1912. She transferred her membership in the Micanopy Baptist Church to the Gainesville First Baptist Church. She was an active member of the local Kirby Smith Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Her two sons remember her as a loving mother and homemaker. She did not live to see the remarkable achievements of her two sons, Dr. Leslie Earle Arnow and Judge Winston Eugene Arnow. Following surgery, she died of peritonitis at age 42.
