Betty was educated in the schools of South Carolina and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Samuel J. Wright in September of 1972.
Betty accepted Christ at an early age and attended the New Castle Baptist Church in Jasper, South Carolina. After moving to Columbia, South Carolina, she united with Cleaves Memorial C.M.E. Church where she served faithfully on the gospel choir, missionary society, and stewardesses board. Better later united with the Crescent Hill Baptist Church and was a member there until her passing.
Betty was employed at Providence Hospital in the Dietary Department for thirty-three (33) years until her retirement.
On Monday, January 27, 2014 at 4:24 a.m., Betty entered into eternal rest at the Providence Hospital.
Mrs. Betty Jean Brantley Wright leaves to cherish her precious memory: her husband of forty-one (41) years, Mr. Samuel J. Wright; three stepchildren; five brothers, David, Thomas, Wilkie, and Lloyd Brantley, and Ben Wallace; one sister, Ada Williams; seven sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; special cousin, Major Willie Pollins; an adopted son, Reverend David Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, many other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
