Hermina "Mike" DeJonge, age 84, of Holland, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014, at Oak Crest.
Mike was a passionate volunteer. She enjoyed work projects with her husband for CRWRC, His Hands, and Bibles for Mexico. Mike was a lifelong member of Borculo CRC, where she was active in Ladies Aid and Keenagers. She was employed at Bohl's restaurant for over 30 years and especially enjoyed waiting on the round table. Mike was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, and will be dearly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Crest – Lighthouse for caring for mom these last two years.
Mike was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon DeJonge, and son Kenneth DeJonge.
She is survived by her children: James and Mary Ann DeJonge, Betty Jo and Dave Haan; daughter-in-law Pam DeJonge; Grandchildren: Michael and Kim DeJonge, Kelly and Brian Meeuwsen, Ross and Sandi Haan, Brad and Rachel Haan, Justin and Emily Haan, Matt and Mari DeJonge, Stephanie and Jason Lanenga, Allyssa and Steve TerHaar; 10 great-grandchildren; Sister Joan Hassevoort; Brother John and Dorothy Bosch; brother and sisters-in-law: Marcia Bosch, Josephine DeJonge, Winifred DeJonge, Maurice DeJonge, Esther Kamps.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Borculo Christian Reformed Church, 6464 96th Ave, Zeeland, MI 49464. Burial will take place in Borculo Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 12, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Borculo Christian Reformed Church, 6464 96th Ave, Zeeland, MI 49464.
