Julia was born in Liverpool Township to Peter and Ernestine Dubel Weigel from Germany. She married George Sawyer on 26 March 1900 in Wood County. She had previously married Charles M. Gano on 25 April 1865 in Cuyahoga County. They had Louisa, Emma, Eustena, Anna, Liddy, and Charles P. but they divorced before 1900. Before that she was the wife of Michael Kurfiss/Kurfess married on 16 July 1859 in Cuyahoga County. Julia died from a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 8 day prior to her eighty-third birthday.
