GEORGE W. BEAVER IS CALLED TO REST

GEORGE W. BEAVER, vice president of the Pacific Mutual Insurance Company, died yesterday at the family residence, 1300 Taylor street. ... He had been in poor health for the past six months. The deceased was born in Franklin County, Pennsylvania in 1825, and came to San Francisco in the spring of 1851. He secured the position of manager of the firm of James Patrick & Co. and later became one of the partners. In the sixties the firm of Patrick & Co. was dissolved, and Mr. Beaver retired from mercantile life. He
then became interested In several large corporations, and at the time of his death was vice president of the Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Company and director of the San Francisco Savings Union, San Francisco Gas Light Company and California Cotton Mills. He retired as a director of the Spring Valley Water Works a few months ago on account of his failing health. He leaves a wife, two sons and three daughters — Fred H., George L., Annie, Kate and Ethel Beaver. The funeral will take place to-morrow morning: from the First Unitarian Church. The interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
