Mr. George owned and operated George's Bakery, the family business and later was employed at Erie General Electric Co. as a locomotive test engineer, retiring in 1986. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during World War II. Mr. George was a member of St. Ann Church.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Peter George; and a sister, Spasa Kostoff (d 2/1966 age 45).
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Armbruster George; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Alexis M.) Wood of Tonganoxie, Kan., and Mrs. Terry (Pauline) Mygrants of Jackson, Mich.; a son, William George of Erie; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Nellie) Sample of Lake Osmego, Ore., and Ange Dillemuth of Wellsville, Ohio.
Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
