Born near Mulberry on August 28, 1872, she was the daughter of Edward J. and Mary Ann (Rodocker) Ohl, and was the youngest of the couple's eight children. On January 15, 1891, she was married to Clinton E. Harshman, who preceded her in death Deember 27, 1940.
She is survived by one son, Russell L. Harshman of Brookston; three daughters, Elgie Jeannette, wife of Chalmer Bolyard of Lafayette, Etta Maude, wife of Artus Burkhalter of Mulberry route 1, and Avis Agnes, wife of the Rev. Dwight L. Miley of Marion; 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchidren.
Mrs. Harshman was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran church of Mulberry and of the local Women's Missionary society. She was also a life member of the women's Missionary society of The United Lutheran Church in America.
Services for the deceased woman were held at Zion Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 31. The Rev. H. C. Stolldorf, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran church, Lafayette, officiated. Burial was in the Fair Haven cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Johnson Funeral Home.
Friends who wish may give an offering to the Ada Alice Harshman Memorial fund, Zion Lutheran church. Offerings will be used by the Missionary society for the work of foreign missions.
