PARENTS MEET AT DAUGHTERS BIER AFTER 20 YEARS
After 20 years of seperation, Enos Wright of Mt. Ida Arkansas and Mrs. Alice Wright of Kingsley Iowa met in Correctionville Iowa, Tuesday of this week for the funeral of their daughter, Mrs. Isaac Hathaway, who died in Des Moines last Saturday, and was buried here in her mother's lot at the local cemetery. The funeral took place at the M.E. Church conducted by Rev. R. D. Acheson. Pallbearers were old friends of the family, the Wrights having lived a few miles west of here on Wolf Creek for many years.
The shock of the death of their daughter, for a time made the parents forget their own private differences which have kept them apart for so long and they met at her bier. They however went their several ways after the obsequies.
Mrs. Hathaways husband is a mounted policeman of Des Moines, and she was a member of the ladies Star Club, composed of the wives of the policeman. They sent a beautiful floral emblem which was placed on top of the coffin.
Christina Wright Hathaway was born August 2, 1867 in Merengo, Iowa. She was married February 25, 1885 to Isaac Hathaway at the home of her mother Mrs. Alice Wright who lives seven miles south of Kingsley. In 1893 they moved to Waterloo, Iowa, and while there she united with the Evangelical church. From Waterloo, they moved to Des Moines in 1902 where she lived to the age of 41 years, 4 months and 9 days, she went to her long home. She leaves husband and 8 children: Walter Hathaway of Mason City, Iowa, Mrs. John Day and Frank Hathaway of Mason City, Iowa. Alice, Clyde, Stella, Goldie and Vernon of Des Moines, a brother W. R. Greenlee of Spooner, Wisconsin and her parents.
