Final rites for Perry Barnes, 94-year-old former area rancher who died Saturday at the Amie Holt Nursing Home, were held Tuesday from the Kaycee Baptist church with the Rev. Arthur Bigelow officiating. Burial was in the Kaycee cemetery.
He was born on September 17, 1880 in Lincoln Township, Ia., on his grandfather's farm.He lived there most of his early years and worked on various ranches in the neighborhood.
In 1917, he came to Johnson County and filed on a homestead on Four Mile where he ranched until 1956 when he sold out and moved to Kaycee. He lived at the Aimie Holt Nursing Home for the past 10 years.
Survivors include a cousin, Mrs. Hope Cornelius of Forsyth, Mont., and several nieces and nephews.
