Jacqueline L. Smith Fulkerson of Carlisle passed away at home on August 15, 2012. She was born November 18, 1925 in Shelburn to parents Melville G. Brodie and Pansy B. Day Brodie. She graduated from Shelburn High School in 1943 and worked several years in Indianapolis at Link-Belt Co and American Art Clay Co. She then worked at First Bank & Trust in Sullivan for 12 years and retired in 1991.Jackie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sullivan where she served and worshiped. She worked for several years on the Sullivan County Unit of the American Cancer Society, especially with the Reach to Recovery Program. She was also a huge NASCAR fan.Jackie was preceded in death by her first husband Garland F. Smith (d. 1985) whom she married in 1944 and by her second husband Verlon W. Fulkerson (d. 1997) whom she married in 1994. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters: Kenneth A. Red Brodie, Helen Pigg, Opal DeBaun, Don E. Brodie, Bill R. Brodie, and Phyllis Jean Smith.Jackie is survived by 2 sons, Terry L. Smith of Carlisle and Kevin F. Smith of Indianapolis, wife Michele; one brother John R.
