Carrie (Fidelia) Duron Aldrete, age 93, died December 12, 2013 at 1:10pm of heart failure in her home in Commerce, CA.

Carrie was born on October 28, 1920 in Florence, Arizona to Ramon and Refugia Duron, as one of six children. Her siblings were Roy, Henry, Gilbert, Rose, and Amelia, and her two step sisters, Irene and Helen.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years; a son and his wife, a daughter and her husband, two brothers, a sister and a step sister. Proudly she enjoyed having ten grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

In 1939, she graduated from Roosevelt High School along with her brother, Henry and her step sister, Irene. She was always proud to be a Rough Rider. On February 29, 1944, she married her husband in Los Angeles, CA. Her step mother, Teresa Seidel Duron helped her arrange everything in two days in order to be married while her husband to be was on furlough from the Army. Her dad, Ramon Duron treated the newly- weds to a meal at Clifton's Cafeteria after the ceremony. She has been a resident of The City of Commerce, California for sixty-six years, since August of 1947. She was a woman of great faith and was a sixty-three year member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements were made through Guerra & Gutierrez. Her celebration mass will held at St. Alphonsus Church on December 16, 2013 and she will be interred at Resurrection Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Quiet Cannon at the Montebello Country Club. She will be missed by the entire family and by all those that she met on cruises and trips to South America, the Bahamas, and Europe over the last thirty years. She lived a life full of faith, family, friends and adventures.
