Frank Persons, Once on School Board, Dies
Frank A. Persons, a member of the Minneapolis School Board in 1956 and 1957, died Tuesday at the age of 50.
Mr. Persons 2311 N. 3rd St., was appointed to the school board in 1956 by the City Council on the recomendation of the Central Labor Union. He was defeated a year later in a heated election.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Sundseth-Anderson Mortuary with burial in Crystal Lake Cemetery.
Mr. Persons was born in Swan River, Canada, and has lived in Minneapolis for 40 years. He was a linoleum layer for Kern Tile Co. and was a member of the Carpet, Linoleum and Resiliant Tile Layers Union, Local 596. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his widow, Mary; three sons, Donald, Douglas and Daniel, and one daughter, Mrs. Judith Duresky, and seven grandchildren. [Published in "The Minneapolis Star," Wednesday, June 26th, 1963, MDP, Section "C", Page 15.]
He was a partern in the Kern Tile Co. from 1944 to 1948 and was co-owner of Southwest Floor Covering Co.
