Mrs. Doris Jean Riddle Brewer, age 78, of North Wilkesboro, widow of Garry Walton Brewer died Friday, February 14, 2014 at her home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 17, 2014 at 2:00 at Bethel Branch Church of Christ where she was a faithful member with Brother Steve Johnson and Brother Lawrence Warden officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive at Bethel Branch Church of Christ from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the service.
Mrs. Brewer was born in Wilkes County on May 10, 1935, to Talmadge Iredell and Viola Jane Campbell Riddle. She was a member of Bethel Branch Church of Christ.
Mrs. Brewer is survived by two daughters, Vickie Ledford and husband, David and Adele Sexton and husband, Bucky all of North Wilkesboro; one son, Garry "Greylin" Brewer and wife, Barbara of North Wilkesboro; one sister, Malinda Riddle of Lewisville; seven grandchildren, Hollie Rainwater, Beth Kraemer, Leah Anthony, Erin Winters, Kelli Treadway, Jaymie Sexton, Philip Brewer; 10 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 688 North Bridge Street, Elkin, NC 28621.
