Mr. Don Gay Aaron, Sr., 65, of Sylvania, died Saturday, February 15, 2014, at the Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta, GA.

He was born July 23, 1948, in Millen, GA to the late Rupert Carlton and Udell Minchey Aaron and had live in Sylvania all his life.

He was President and CEO of Sylvania Yarn Systems, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sylvania where he served as Chairman of The Administrative Board and was on the Pastor Parish Committee, he also served as the Chairman of the Church Council and a Sunday School Teacher and was a member of the Methodist Mens Club. He was a past member of the Sylvania Rotary Club and was a past President of the Sylvania Lions Club, and was Past Chairman of the Screven County Industrial Development Authority and Past President of the Screven County Athletic Booster Club.

Survivors include, His Wife, Krista Lane Aaron of Sylvania, 2 Daughters and Sons-in-Law, Mary Helen Aaron and Kevin Harrison, and Emily Aaron and Dennis Dove all of Statesboro, 2 Sons and Daughters-in-Law, Dr. Don G., Jr. and Lisa Thompson Aaron, and Charles Patrick and Leigh Fulghum Aaron all of Statesboro, a Brother and Sister-in-Law, Rupert L. and Sarah W. Aaron of Sylvania, A Brother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law, Pat and Dr. Marian F. Lane of Sylvania, Mother-in-Law, Helen Lane of Sylvania, 9 Grandchildren, Don G. Aaron, III, Will Aaron, Ben Aaron, Lane Aaron, Sydney Kate Aaron, Madeline Aaron, Davis Harrison, Brynn Harrison, and Riley Dove all of Statesboro, Seveal Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews, and a pet dog, Buddy.

Funeral services for Mr. Aaron will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike C. Benson officiating. Burial will be in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be, Billy Stuart, Charles Hagan, Jack King, Don Jamerson, Bill Hawkins, Bernard Brown, Dewayne Forehand, Harry Batty, Charles Collins, Perry Beard, Chuck Conley, Avery Blalock, Frank Hook, Rusty Black, Dr. Bill Kent, Donald Toole, Chris Matheson, and Rip Campbell.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 12 Noon until 1:45 P.M. in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church of Sylvania.
