Sharon Cline Cissell, age 50, died on Feb. 10 at her home in Gurley, Alabama. Sharon was an instructional assistant at Madison County Elementary School and former computer programmer at Intergraph in Huntsville. As a volunteer, she was instrumental in raising funds to build and maintain the Gurley Public Library through her leadership in organizing and directing the Gurley Library Challenge 5K race, and she played an active role in the Gurley United Methodist Church's weekly after-school tutoring program. Before being hired by Madison County Elementary, she volunteered for many years as a tutor and instructional aide. She will also be remembered as a good friend by her neighbors on Keel Mountain.

Sharon is survived by her husband Jim Cissell; two sons Jordan and Ethan Cissell, students at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa; parents Virgil and Ann Cline of Tullahoma, Tennessee; brothers David Cline of Maryville, Tennessee, and Adam Cline of Baltimore, Maryland; nieces Abigail and Olivia Cline of Maryville, Tennessee, and Kristen Hayden of Louisville, Kentucky; mother-in-law Nancy Cissell of Huntsville; brother- and sister-in-law Michael and Jackie Cissell of Asheville, North Carolina.

Services are planned for Saturday, Feb. 15, at 2:00 PM at Gurley United Methodist Church. A visitation will proceed the service, starting at 12:30. Memorial donations may be sent to the Gurley Public Library or the Gurley United Methodist Church.
