*A daughter of Sir Montagu Allan and Marguerite, Lady Allan of Montréal, Quebec, Canada, she was born on 20 April 1900, the youngest of four children. Hoehling/Hoehling states that she was the twin sister of Anna Marjory Allan, but in actuality Anna was almost two years older than Gwen. Both Gwen and her sister Anna died when the RMS "Lusitania" was torpedoed by a German submarine off the coast of Ireland.
Her body was found and buried in Canada while Anna's body was lost at sea.
