U.S. Congressman. After graduating from Montrose Academy, Pennsylvania, in 1874, he was a teller cashier, of the First National Bank of Montrose, Pennsylvania, (1875 to 1881) and president of the First National Bank of Susquehanna Depot, (1882 to 1899). Entering politics, he was a delegate to the Republican National Conventions, (1896, 1904, 1908). In 1899, he was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-sixth, Fifty-seventh, and Fifty-eighth Congresses, serving until 1905. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he was the Delaware State Treasurer, (1911 to 1913), commissioner of public service, (1915 to 1916) and resumed his banking pursuits until his death. His brother Myron Benjamin Wright, was also a U.S. Congressman.
