"Mrs. Bertha C. Whitt, age 91, of Rutledge, died Friday at Ridgeview Terrace Nursing Center in Rutledge.
She was a member of the Central Point Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Kitts of Knoxville, she is survived by daughters, Mrs. Fred (Mary) McElhaney of Corryton and Mrs. Irene Hickey of Rutledge; sons, George H. Whitt of Cleveland, Tenn., and Harry E. Whitt of Luttrell; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; half-brother, Albert Cameron of Knoxville, and half-sister, Mrs. Lena Mae Gray.
A private graveside funeral service was held Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Central Point Cemetery with Rev. Gene Morgan officiating.
Smith Funeral Home of Rutledge was in charge."
