In 1898, he moved to Denver, Colorado, where he was employed by the Daniels & Fisher Company as a stock boy. He advanced to department salesman and went on to manage various departments. In 1929 he became President of the entire company - a position he held until his death in 1944. In connection with his duties as President, he and his wife traveled extensively in Europe.
He was a Trustee of the Colorado State Museum of Natural History, Director of the Demver Chamber of Commerce, and was active in the Denver Rotary Club and the Mile High Club.
