Dallas area artist and photographer-son of Charles and Etna Bridges. He graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School in 1975, studied Fine Arts at North Texas State University (now UNT). He worked as an illustrator, commercial artist and silkscreen printer and was employed at Woot Services at the time of his death.
Joe was active in the Dallas area art scene and was friends with several local artist. He liked to attend live music venues and was friends with many local musicians.
Joe's interest included painting, natural history, photography, and paleontology, among many other things. He was a avid fossil hunter and collector, with a keen knowledge of the flora and fauna, both ancient and modern, to be found in the area. He spent a lot of time searching for interesting fossils and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with anyone who was interested.

Joe died in a fatal motorcycle accident, the victim of a drunk driver who fled the scene after hitting him.
