After graduation she accepted a position as a school teacher in Carson City. She taught school and was also involved in girls' physical education program there until she married Charles Marriage in 1952. She then later returned as a substitute teacher in Carson High School. She was very active in the Carson community belonging to a number of bowling leagues over the years and was an active member in the American Association of University Women during her teaching years.
Venus served tirelessly in many capacities within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of her life and this allowed her to share her love of music and played the piano and organ for many years for the church. Her legacy was service to others and will always be remembered by everyone for that service. Her unconditional love for her "boys" and her family was evident by her selflessness and devotion to them and to all those she came in contact with. She will forever be remembered for her wit, honesty and humor and set a wonderful example for all to follow.
She is survived by her brother, Donal Jolley of Rimforest, California; sons Dan Marriage of Reseda, California and Alan Marriage (Mary) of Carson City. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday April 21, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, "C" Hill Building on McKay Drive in Carson City. Interment will follow the service at Lone Mountain Cemetery, Carson City. Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City.
