Manitowoc Pilot Thursday, Aug. 25, 1881
Mr. J. Hermann Broer of Two Rivers was killed on Wednesday last while drawing in grain. While in the act of unhitching his horses from the wagon on the threshing
floor, they became frightened and sprang to one side, squeezing him between the wagon rack and a post, and injuring him so badly that he died within 24 hours after the occurrence.
He was 55 years of age and an honest, respectable man.

Gravesite Details
Death date doesn't match obituary. Obit on Thurs. 25th, says "Wed. last". So that would be the 24th unless it was last week, then it would be the 18th. Either way, dates are off.
