Carole S. (Harnishfeger) Albin, 74, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014. She was born July 11, 1940, in Evansville, to the late Fred and Lucy (Amick) Harnishfeger.
She and her husband, Richard, were childhood friends and both graduated in the class of 1958 at Bosse High School. She worked at Old National Bank before becoming a Kindergarten teacher at Dependent Elementary School in Phalsbourg, France, where Richard was stationed during his service in the US Air Force. Carole retired from the Metropolitan School District of Mt. Vernon after 35 years of service. Her faith was evident throughout her life and was portrayed through her favorite verse, Philippians 4:13, which reads, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Carole was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Richard L. Albin; parents; and brother, Fred Harnishfeger.
She is survived by her sons, Scott (Sally) Albin of Evansville and Mark (Ann) Albin of Loveland, OH; grandchildren, Zachary, Jordan, Jessica and Emily Albin of Evansville, Jacob, Jarrett and Josh Albin of Loveland, OH; sister, Wanda McRoy of Memphis, TN; brother, Robert Harnishfeger of Pensacola, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor John Hilbert, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
