"Edward James Gay, 59, of Akron, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at the Ephrata Community Hospital.
He was born in Coatesville, the son of Edward James Jr. and the late Sara E. (Scott) Gay.
Edward was a graduate of Twin Valley. He worked as an Assembler for MGS for 10 years.
He loved woodworking, cars, and spending time with his son while hunting for treasures with his metal detector.
He is survived by his companion, Virginia Morris; a son, Edward James, husband of Chelsea Gray; a granddaughter, Paige Gray, who was the light of Edward's life; 2 sisters, Barbara, wife of Kenneth L. Wenrich, Sandra Gay and her companion, Neil Dutterer; a brother, Barry, husband of Sandra Gay; 7 nieces and 8 nephews.
In addition to his mother, Edward is preceded in death by 1 niece and 1 nephew.
A viewing will be held on Monday, February 24, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor William Hample officiating. Interment will take place in the Fairview Cemetery, Annex.
