J.E. Hemphill 84, of Peacock Texas went to be with the Lord Sunday January 19, 2014. He was born on July 25, 1929 in Spur, Texas to James & Edna Hemphill. J.E. Married Donaleen Felts on February 17, 1959. J.E. was a lifelong farmer, rancher and member of the Church of Christ. He was a foreman for 38 years for Bridwell Ranch. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. J.E. was a wonderful husband and a great provider for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents James Hemphill and Edna Davis Hemphill. He is Survived by his loving wife Donalee Hemphill; children Donna Shaw Kessler and husband Darrell of Indiana; Debbie Langley of Jayton, Texas; Jimmy Lee Hemphill and wife Ruby of Oklahoma; Jerry Wayne Hemphill and wife Judy of Bowie, Texas; Johnny Dean Hemphill and wife Kelly of Joy, Texas; Sister Ila Daniel of Ft. Worth, Texas; Brother Tommy Dewayne Hemphill of Blossom, Texas; Ten Grandchildren and Twenty Two Great Grandchildren. Graveside services were 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Dickens Cemetery in Dickens, Texas. Services held under the Direction of Zapata Funeral Home.
