Grumbley was born June 17, 1928, in Ballston, to Charles and Lydia Elsenbladder Wirfs. She married George Grumbley on Oct. 5, 1946, in Dallas.
She graduated from Dallas High School in 1946. She moved to Drain in 1946 and worked for the state. She later moved away, but returned in 1953, working for a school on Smith River and later at Cold Spring Store. She worked as a cook in Drain and Eugene until she retired.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mike of Cheshire and Steve of Drain; a daughter, Debra Simpson of Drain; a sister, Stella Lowe of Dallas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
At her request, no service is planned. Burial will be in Comstock Cemetery in Curtin.
