Lee Marion Abbott was born in Bath, NY to Lee and Marian Abbott. He graduated in 1958 from Haverling High School. He attended Norwich University, the Military College of Vt. He graduated with class of 1962. He served in the US Army for 10 years and was discharged honorably with the rank of Captain. He served in Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star Medal. He relocated to Sarasota, FL and then later to Pensacola, FL in 1972 where he started his business, "Lafayette Electronics". Years later he closed his business and held several management positions with Scotty's and Albertsons. He began his last job with Department of Children and Families, (then HRS) and worked there 13 years until his retirement in 2004. He served as the local President of the state union, AFSCME, Local 2673. Lee was an avid collector of miniature trains, miniature cars and Walt Disney/Warner Brothers and duck collectibles. He loved watching Western movies and television shows. He was a past member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church.

Lee had 1 son, Aaron L. Abbott. He remarried on June 30, 2001 to Della Savage Denny. Lee went to Glory on February 16, 2014 with his wife at his bedside. Lee was preceded in death by his parents and his only sibling Louise Mitchell.

Left to mourn his departure to heaven are: his wife, Della Marie Savage Denny-Abbott of 12 years, his son Aaron L. Abbott, 3 stepchildren, Jennifer, Jeremy and Joshua Denny, his mother in law Della Mae Savage, father in law David (Gloria) Savage Sr., 5 sister in laws, Vanessa and Cynthia Savage, Tanya (James) Anderson, Davina Law, and Deena (Shawn) Chapple, 4 brother in laws, David Savage Jr., Timothy, Jonathan and Adam (Sandra) Savage, 2 step grandsons, Jacari Jordan and Jeremiah Denny, 2 nieces Jessica Anderson and Davida Savage, nephew Tadam Savage and friends.

Funeral Services will held at Greater Little Rock Baptist Church 901 N. "A" St. Pensacola Fl 32501@1 pm. Viewing will be held noon to 7 pm @Tracy Morton Memorial Chapel 55 Coast Rd Pensacola Fl 32507. Family will be available from 5-7 pm. Burial will at Barrancas National Cemetery NAS Pensacola Fl 32507 @2pm Monday February 24, 2014.
