Sarah Louise (Thomas) Adams, 89 of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away February 23, 2013 at Civista Medical Center.
Born February 13, 1924 in Oraville, MD, she was the daughter of Theodore Tobias Thomas and Hattie L. Thomas.
She was a homemaker who loved dancing, gardening flowers, playing bingo and cards, playing the slots, having yard sales and doing flower arrangements. She was a "people person".
Sarah was predeceased by her parents; husband, James T. Adams, Jr.; son, Joseph D. Adams; siblings, Louis Thomas, Truman H. Thomas, Sr., Leroy Medley, Lillian Thomas Herbert, Rosetta Thomas Briscoe, Lucille Thomas Ellison, Elizabeth Thomas Rustin, Gertrude Thomas Meredith, Mary Thomas Douglas; and great granddaughter Gabriella A. Adams.
She is survived by her children, Richard P. Adams (Edrena), Vincent E. Adams, Sr. (Michelle), Glenn M. Adams, Barbara Adams Brigham (Jerome), Rodney L. Adams (Corrine) and James L. Adams; daughter-in-law Agatha T. Adams; brother Paul W. Rustin; 27 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 3 sisters-in law.
The family will receive friends for Sarah's Life Celebration on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 8:30 - 10:30 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 28297 Old Village Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with Father David Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, 38888 Doctor Johnson Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659.
