Frank was born in Adamsville, Tennessee on August 19, 1922, the son of the late Aubrey and Hattie English Donaldson. On June 9, 1949, he was united in marriage to Alene Malone, who survives.
He graduated from Adamsville High School in 1941 and enlisted with the US Army from December 1942 thru October 1945. During his enlistment, Frank was stationed in Normandy and Northern France. On December 20, 1944,during the Battle of the Bulge, he was captured by the Germans and was liberated on April 23, 1945. For his service he received: 4 Bronze Service Stars, a Good Conduct Medal, and a Purple Heart. After his discharge he enrolled in The University of Tennessee and graduated at UT Knoxville in 1951 with an accounting degree. Frank was an accountant for Michigan Credit Union League and the Bureau of Federal Credit Unions. He was a member of the Metro Baptist Church in Belleville, Michigan and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He faithfully attended Calvary Baptist Church of the Mud Creek Community in Adamsville.
Frank is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alene of Morris Chapel and twin brother, Grady Donaldson of Adamsville, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Jewel Wilson and Sallie Amerson.
