Born Aug. 7, 1928 in Philadelphia, a son of Claude G and Ruth Towsen Aikens.
He served with the Air National Guard stationed in Pittsburgh. He was a jet fighter bomber pilot with the 146th Fighter Bomber Squadron.
He graduated from Yale University. Mr. Aikens published the Centre Daily Times from 1965 to 1979; president of the Nittany Printing and Publishing Co. Member of Pine Valley Country Club, Rolling Rock Club, and Elks Club. From 1961-1968 he was a member of Airplane Owners and Pilots Association.
He is survived by two daughters: Ruth Marr and Caran Spencer Moussa; two sons: Charles Thomas Aiken III and Randolph G Aiken; and a granddaughter.
