Groveland - Stephen E. Collins, 44, of Groveland, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born July 25, 1969, in Alexandria, La., to Donald R. and Renate (Schwabe) Collins. He married Heidi L. Puzich on June 29, 1997, in Morton.
Surviving are his wife, Heidi Collins; one son, Zachary S. Collins; one daughter, Alexis R. Collins; and four brothers, Donald (Cindy) Collins, Michael (Tanya) Collins, Aaron (Kristen) Collins and Jacob (Heather) Collins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Stephen was employed as a correctional officer with the Peoria Adult Transition Center.
He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton, where he served as a Sunday School teacher. He was a former member of the Bethel Lutheran School Board.
He was a former union representative with the AFSCME International.
Stephen enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
