Blanche was born to Fred and Ester Hurtzig in Lamoine, a logging town near Mt. Shasta.
Her family later moved to Sacramento, where she graduated from High School in 1937. She was the captain of the archery team; and she was an accomplished swimmer and diver. She attended San Francisco College for Women.
She married Peter Mondavi and they moved to St. Helena in the Napa Valley.
Blanche is survived by her husband; her sister; one daughter and two sons; ten grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
