Hays -- E.J. Dreiling, 88, died Oct. 13, 1990, at St. John's of Victoria Nursing Home, Victoria. He was born Oct. 14, 1901, at Victoria, the son of Joseph and Catherine Weigel Dreiling.

A lifetime resident of Hays, he was former owner of Midwest Tobacco Budweiser Distributors. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Third Degree Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree Bishop Cunningham Knights of Columbus, all at Hays, and a former Kansas State Legislator.

On Nov. 13, 1923, he married Rose Wolf at Hays. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, T.J., Hays; a daughter, Imogene Leard, Overland Park; four sisters, Georgene Pfannenstiel, Hays, Rose Webb, Portland, Oreg., and Helen Pfannenstiel and Eleanor Rohr, both of Topeka; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays, with Father Paulinusk Karlin presiding. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hays Memorial Chapel, Hays. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Thomas More Prep High School or to St. Joseph's Catholic School, both in care of the funeral chapel.
