Josiah "Joe" Surratt Wilson was a brother to my 2x great grandmother Martha Georgia Wilson-Johnson. He died at the home of his sister in Sylamore, attended by Doc Hayden. He was taken to Red Doors Cemetery by wagon for burial. He is the son of Leander "Lee" Stanford Wilson and Frances Surratt. The family hid the Surratt lineage due to the relationship to Mary Jenkins Surratt, wife of John Surratt who was killed in the Civil War. Mary was hung for treason for having aided John Wilkes Booth in the murder of President Abraham Lincoln. Joe married Frances Gib6son who died in 1876 - he then married her younger sister Sarah Larah Gibson - daughters of William George Gibson and half breed Cacy Day, they are suppose to Gibson homeplace. Lee and Frances are buried in Big Flat Cemetery in unmarked graves. As a child different family members took me to the graves which are marked with old stones.
