Gus Timmons was born May 16, 1897 in Wickliffe, KY, the son of William and Sarah Lee Timmons. His surviving siblings were Mrs. Eillie [sic?] Hill of Wickliffe, KY and Mrs. Bertha Johnson New Madrid, MO.
He married Maudie Phillips in Palmyra, MO on September 21, 1916. She survived. A son preceded him in death.
Mr. Timmons was a carpenter. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Murphysboro.
He died at the age of 69 on Sunday, September 18, 1966 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital. His funeral was held in the Murphysboro Pentecostal Church. Rev. Buford Gibson officiated. Crawshaw Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
