Mrs. Arthur T. Dunn Dies;
Funeral Services on Monday
Mrs. Olive Edgcomb Dunn, 81, of 8 Hill St., widow of Arthur T. Dunn, died Friday evening at Cortland Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 12, 1884, in Cortland, she was the daughter of Albert Webb Edgcomb and Sarah Ballard Edgcomb. She was married Nov. 29, 1911, in Cortland, to Arthur T. Dunn who died Aug. 21, 1961.
Mrs. Dunn was a graduate of Cortland Normal School, class of 1903; Vassar College, class of 1907, and received the Masters Degree at Columbia University in 1908.
She became a member of the then Local Board of the Cortland Normal School in 19** and then served as a member of the board, later known as the Board of Visitors at the college for 35 years. She had served as secretary of the board.
A life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cortland, Mrs. Dunn was a member and former president of the Women's Association.
She also served for years on the Board of Directors of the YWCA and was a past president. At her death, Mrs. Dunn was honorary president of the YWCA Board and she was chairman of the YWCA Membership Committee.
Mrs. Dunn was a member of the Fortnightly Club and Cortland County Historical Society.
Surviving her are one sister, Mrs. Max Higgins, 4 Hill St.; two children, Dr. Seymour Dunn of Alfred University, and Mrs. Herbert W. Robinson; three grandchildren, ***, Mary and Jane Robinson, of Cortland.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard A. DeMott, rector, officiating.
Friends may call at the Beard Memorial Home Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. Friends may pay tribute to the Living Memorial Fund of the First Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Cortland Rural Cemetery.
