C.J. Breitenstein, Ex-Keystone Credit Aide, Dies

Charles J. Breitenstein, 82, of St. Joseph's Home, died at 9:15 p. m. Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital where he had been a patient since March 18.

He had been a resident of St. Joseph's Home since October 1960. He was formerly of 1023 W. Wilcox Ave.

A Peoria resident since May, 1902, he was born March 21, 1879, in Germantown, Ohio, the son of Jacob B. and Maria Byers Randall Breitenstein. He married Mayme M. Kerker Jan. 20, 1915, in Peoria. She died Sept. 5, 1958.

He was employed by the Illinois Bell Telephone Co. for 15 years as a cashier paymaster. He was employed later in the credit department of the Keystone Steel & Wire Co. for 26 years, retiring Aug. 25, 1944.

Surviving are a son, Charles Jay of Buffalo, N. Y. and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be announced by Cumerford-Endsley Memorial Home.
