Alta M. Warner, 86, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 at her home in Ellis Township. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home in Williamston, MI. Visitation will also be held on Thursday at the funeral home from noon until the time of service. Alta was born on March 8, 1925 in Remus, MI. She was the daughter of George and Rachel (Nostrant) Van Curen. She grew up in the Clio / Birch Run area. On July 7, 1945 she married Johnathon Warner in Clio. After a period of moving the Warner family settled in Webberville, MI. Johnathon preceded her in death in July, 1970. Alta had been employed at Aco, Inc. in Pinckney for several years. She had been a resident of Ellis Township for the past twenty seven years. Alta enjoyed sewing, gardening and reading. She was a member of the Joy Fellowship Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her children, John (Nancy) Warner of Webberville, Ken (Sue) Warner of Wolverine, Richard (Sandy) Warner of Edwardsville, Il, Carolyn (Larry) Becker of Defiance, Oh, Tom (Sally) Warner of Fayetteville, NC, Randy Warner of Collinsville, Il, Andy (Holly) Warner of Huber Heights, Oh; seventeen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; brother, Orville (JoAnn) Van Curen of Remus, MI; sister, Eleanor (Larry) Nicholas of Clio, MI; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Alta was preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Daniels, Lurrene McCullough and Dorothy Randall.
